Alberta Moose Hunts

Here's our good friend, John Gordon of Summit Taxidermy in Longview, AB, with his beautiful 50" Shiras moose.

Our rifle moose season begins September 24. We have very good bulls available and success rates are high. Most hunters willing to put in the effort, will get an opportunity to take a trophy bull. We consider 45" to 50" be a realistic goal for our hunters, and 50"+ moose are.

This is truly a premium hunt for SCI Shiras moose. This hunt can be combined with mule deer, whitetails or black bear.

The hunt can be scheduled for the peak of the rut. (Calling in a big bull moose is an exciting hunt for sure.) Or, after rut has wound down and the bulls need to feed before winter sets in.

The weather can vary a fair bit in October. It can be sunny with temperatures as high as 70F, and if it is cool and damp, we can even see some snow on the ground, though it doesn't usually last long.

Our moose are classified as Shiras moose by Safari Club International, and as Canada moose by the Boone & Crockett Club.

Alberta Elk Hunts

Rifle elk season begins September 17, during the peak of the rut. We hunt the foothills and mountains on horseback and on foot, glassing and calling. We enjoy an excellent opportunity to bugle bulls into close range. This exciting hunt is in a limited entry area with a 6 point minimum (on one antler) rule, which ensures that mature trophy bulls are available. This hunt can be scheduled to combine mule deer or black bear, as well.

Here's an opportunity you won't find often. Bowhunters can book our elk and moose combination hunt. The hunt takes place in September, when the elk rut is reaching its peak and the moose rut is getting well underway.

At the outset of the hunt we will focus on calling in elk with the added opportunity of spot and stalk moose hunting as well. As the hunt progresses, the moose often respond better and better to calling and can often be brought in to very close range.

We can only offer two of these exciting hunts per year, so book early.

The current price list is available on our booking page.
